Armatage Neighborhood: The Namesake Of A Community Leader

Armatage neighborhood is located in the southwest corner of the city. The neighborhood is name for the Armatage Community and Montessori School, which in turn is named for Maude Armatage, a community leader who became the first woman elected to a minneapolis municipal office in the position of Commissioner at Large.

Armatage Park, also named for Maude Armatage, has a recreation center as well as an assortment of playing fields. The park also has a state-of-the-art playground with all kinds of swings as well as a climing wall.
